Suggested Membership Site Themes
Posted on 23. Oct, 2009 by Steve.
When you are deciding on the theme for your membership site, it is best if you can choose a theme that concerns something you are really interested in…even passionate about. Remember that you will be spending a lot of time keeping your membership informed, keeping your website interesting and keeping relevant and timely content on your website and in your ezine that you send out regularly. If you choose to start a membership site about…say….dogs. Just dogs in general won’t attract many members. You will need to choose a specific breed….and possibly even narrow it down further. Instead of Poodles, your theme should be; Tiny Toy Poodles, Miniature Poodles, or Standard Poodles, for example. Millions of people are dog lovers and the theme of a specific breed of dog should do well. If you are really into video or computer games, start a membership site devoted to one specific game… [...]

Operating Your Own Membership Site
Posted on 22. Oct, 2009 by Steve.
The purpose of membership websites are many and varied. Whilst the majority tend to be related to Internet marketing, membership websites are starting to diversify. In recent times I’ve seen sites that are related to cooking, self improvement and other topics that are of interest to a broader audience. It’s only common sense that this new trend to choose non-internet niches will continue. Why compete in a fairly saturated market like Internet marketing when the membership world is literally your oyster? Granted, it does take some work, research and study, but there are very few businesses that don’t require at least some effort on your part. Let’s look at some things that are required to run a successful membership site. 1. Passion and Dedication – [...]

Why Start a Membership Site?
Posted on 21. Oct, 2009 by Steve.
People are willing to pay for online content. In fact, the “Online Publishers Association” said that pay-for content is emerging as a hot revenue model. Business content, personals/match making, and entertainment are the hottest niches. But even smaller niches, like DVD authoring, sports coaching, marketing services, and dieting are producing profits. You can sell subscriptions for online content with your own membership site? Selling online content by way of a password protected website has become big business. Not only is it fast to set up, but the start-up and running costs are minimal. Work from home entrepreneurs and big businesses alike are tapping into this new-found revenue source. Less than nine percent of online users currently pay for online content. This means the market is wide open for the savvy entrepreneur. Paying for content in 2004 was more than 5 times what it was in 2005. That’s a whopping 500% [...]

Protect Your Blog From Spams
Posted on 07. Oct, 2009 by Steve.
If you are sick of deleting spams, use yaCAPTCHA and forget spams. yaCAPTCHA is a CAPTCHA plugin for WordPress that helps you block comment spam from automated bots. In order to post comments, users will have to write down the characters that are part of an image. Since it is relatively hard for automated programs to figure out those characters, this will help prevent comment spam from those programs. Requirements WordPress 1.5 or above. PHP 4.0.6 or above with GD2 library support. Theme must support the ‘comment_form’ action. Strengths vs other solutions Easy to install Does not require Javascript to work Broad WordPress version support Download yaCAPTCHA; http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/yacaptcha/

Be Different, Use Creative Favicons
Posted on 05. Oct, 2009 by Steve.
If you want to create / make your web site effective and quality you should use creative favicon. We love creative favicons. Their beauty lies in the approach a designer has chosen to put something really unique inside of the 16×16px box. Designing favicons, it’s necessary to work with miniature images, and every extra pixel can be the wrong one. A good favicon is original, beautiful and – in best case – fits to the logotype and color schemes used in the web-site. Creating them is a challenge not every designer is able to cope with. It’s hard, but not impossible. In fact, many creative solutions are possible, but it’s damn hard to come up with some of them once you need them. Sometimes it’s enough to rescale the logo to an appropriate size, as shown by Xpanity Favicon: If rescaling doesn’t provide optimal results, you can try to extract [...]
